Bien and mal describe the quality of an action. They are adverbs and do not agree with the subject.

Corre rápido.
Ellas trabajan rápido.

Rápido can also be an adjective.

Una respuesta rápida contains an adjective that agrees with respuesta. In Responde rápido, the word describes the action and remains unchanged.

Adverbs ending in -mente

How to form Spanish adverbs with -mente

Many manner adverbs are formed from adjectives. Use the feminine singular form of the adjective and add -mente.

Original accent marks are normally preserved.

An adjective describes a noun and normally agrees with it. An adverb describes an action, quality or other adverb and normally remains unchanged.
