How Reliable Is an Online Spanish Placement Test?
An online test can provide a useful estimate of your Spanish level when it is clearly structured around CEFR levels. However, it cannot measure everything. Speaking, pronunciation, spontaneous responses and conversational confidence are especially difficult to assess fully online.

Is the Spanish placement test really free?
Yes. You can start the appropriate test for free and assess your level immediately. Registration is not required.
Which test should I choose?
If you have almost no prior knowledge, choose Beginner A1–A2. If you already understand or speak everyday Spanish, choose Intermediate B1–B2. If you are highly confident, choose Advanced C1–C2.
What do A1 to C2 mean?
A1 to C2 are levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). A1 represents basic foundations, B1 independent everyday communication, and C1/C2 highly advanced language proficiency.
Does the test replace an official certificate?
No. The test is intended for self-assessment. For official proof of Spanish proficiency, you need a recognised exam such as DELE or SIELE.
Does the test also assess speaking and pronunciation?
Only to a limited extent. Online tests can assess grammar, vocabulary and reading well. Speaking, pronunciation and spontaneous communication should also be assessed with a teacher.
