You may need documented evidence of your Spanish proficiency for a university application, an exchange programme, professional purposes or an employer.
The MundoDELE Spanish Proficiency Assessment provides a structured evaluation of your current Spanish level and a personalised certificate showing the CEFR level achieved.
The complete process takes place online, in a single 60-minute live video call with a MundoDELE examiner: you complete the grammar, writing and speaking activities together with the teacher, in real time.
What Is Included?
Your assessment combines several language skills to provide a more complete picture of your Spanish proficiency.
Online Language Assessment
This part takes place live, over a video call with your MundoDELE examiner, who gives you timed activities — answered orally or by typing in the chat — covering:
- grammar and vocabulary
- listening comprehension
- practical language use
Writing Assessment
During the same live video call, you also complete written tasks by typing your answers in the chat in real time. Your MundoDELE examiner evaluates your answers as part of the same live session.
Live Speaking Assessment
You complete an approximately 30-minute live online speaking assessment with a MundoDELE examiner during the video call.
This allows us to evaluate your ability to communicate spontaneously in Spanish, in addition to your written responses.
During this live conversation, the teacher also assesses your listening comprehension (understanding the teacher’s questions and instructions and responding appropriately), in line with the exam’s internal grading guide.
Human Academic Review
Your results are reviewed by a qualified MundoDELE examiner and evaluated according to CEFR-based proficiency criteria.
The assessment process is conducted under the academic coordination of Ana Inés Ruesjas Martín, Academic Coordinator & Head of Teaching at MundoDELE.

CEFR Spanish Levels A1–C2
The assessment uses the proficiency levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
A1 – Beginner
Can understand and use basic everyday expressions and communicate in simple situations.
A2 – Elementary
Can communicate about familiar topics and routine tasks.
B1 – Intermediate
Can communicate independently in many everyday, travel and work-related situations.
B2 – Upper Intermediate
Can interact confidently and understand more complex spoken and written Spanish.
C1 – Advanced

2. Complete Your Live Online Assessment
Meet a MundoDELE examiner and complete the online language assessment.
Approximate time: 60 minutes.
3. Academic Review
A qualified MundoDELE examiner reviews your performance and determines your result according to MundoDELE’s CEFR-based assessment criteria.
4. Receive Your Certificate
Receive your personalised MundoDELE Spanish Level Certificate, normally within 2 business days after completing all assessment components.

Technical Problems and Assessment Results
If a verified technical problem prevents you from completing part of the assessment, MundoDELE will arrange a replacement session or assessment component at no additional cost.
Assessment results reflect the language performance demonstrated during the assessment. A disagreement with the level awarded does not in itself entitle the participant to a refund or free reassessment.

Yes. All components take place online, including the live speaking assessment with a MundoDELE teacher.
